ENOVLINK TRAINING CENTER (ETC)
Posted on 08 September 2009 by Nancy Cudis
When call centers suddenly started coming in hordes to Cebu just a few years back, the academe was quite unprepared for the challenging and urgent requirements of these new establishments. Still, the ample supply of graduates in Cebu was able to meet the requisites of these call centers whose population continues to grow. Consequently, this scenario poses a seemingly never-ending search for quality and qualified agents.
Fast forward, Cebu recorded 22 call centers with around 20,000 agents as of the last quarter of 2008. More are still coming and more are growing—a new call center with about 600 seats in Mandaue City and physical expansion of big industry players. The challenge remains evident: filling up the seats with quality and qualified agents.
Fortunately, complementing the education of colleges and universities are the presence of training centers in Metro Cebu. College graduates who want to pursue call center careers but have to improve on their English proficiencies first are confronted with the question on which training center would be worth their time and money.
One “learning and performance improvement company” serving the business process and knowledge process outsourcing industries along Osmeňa Blvd. in Cebu City stands out for its practical and affordable courses. Called ENOVLINK TRAINING CENTER, the professional career enhancement and sourcing facility opened in November last year.
While it targets to improve the skills of call center near-hires and other potential applicants, ENOVLINK TRAINING CENTER has been receiving enrollees from all walks of life—including nursing graduates and mothers as well as professionals simply seeking to improve their English proficiency skills.
It is also a strong partner of CEBU BLOGGERS SOCIETY, a non-stock, non-profit organization of Cebu-based bloggers, which has utilized ENOVLINK’S room facilities for some of its learning activities.
According to ENOVLINK TRAINING CENTER chief executive officer Evan Mendoza, there is a need to improve the English proficiency of Filipinos to steadily supply the increasing number of jobs that came with the influx of call centers to Cebu.
ENOVLINK offers courses in English language proficiency and provides job tips, values training, financial management, and understanding of the call center environment and the foreign consumer.
In fact, its training includes 100 hours of intensive communication skills, comprehension, and active learning skills designed for existing or aspiring call center agents and career shifters. This is in line with its vision to enable, enhance, and expand the communication and customer service skills of individuals to attain successful careers in the call center industry.
This same industry we are talking about has, after all, contributed $5 billion to the Philippine economy in 2007 from only $1.5 billion in 2004.
As the call center industry in the Philippines continues to grow, the CEBU BLOGGERS SOCIETY wishes ENOVLINK TRAINING CENTER to grow as well, helping more and more individuals achieve their job goals.
