Blogging is Not Dead: CBS Talks Empowers Cebu's Digital Storytellers
The Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) recently hosted another meaningful edition of CBS Talks at the elegant Seda Central Bloc Cebu, bringing together both budding and veteran content creators for a full day of learning, sharing, and digital empowerment. With the theme "Blogging is Not Dead," the event served as a powerful reminder that blogging continues to evolve and remain relevant in today's dynamic online world.
While the digital landscape has shifted dramatically in recent years—with short-form videos and influencer content dominating many platforms—CBS Talks made a compelling case for the continued importance of blogging as a platform for thoughtful storytelling, personal branding, and community building.
A Day of Insightful Conversations
The event featured a rich lineup of talks covering topics essential to today’s digital storyteller. CBS Vice President Leylan Romarate kicked off the day with an engaging introduction to blogging, underscoring how blogging has adapted to new trends and platforms while remaining a cornerstone of digital content creation.
PR and marketing expert Vanette Minoza took the stage next to share her expertise on brand collaborations and partnerships, offering valuable insights on how content creators can build professional relationships and grow their platforms through strategic partnerships.
Then, digital creator Lloyd Chua led a hands-on session on enhancing your Instagram game, offering tips on content planning, engagement, and aesthetics—key components in boosting one’s visibility on the popular platform.
In the afternoon, there was a timely discussion on digital risks and online ethics led by Atty. Ethelbert Ouano, who tackled the responsibilities that come with having an online presence and how creators can protect both themselves and their audiences in the digital space.
And finally, content creator and branding coach Aldrin Suan inspired participants with his talk on photo editing and personal branding, two vital skills for any modern-day content creator aiming to stand out in a saturated digital world.
More Than Just Talks
Beyond the inspiring sessions, what truly made this edition of CBS Talks special was the atmosphere of camaraderie and shared purpose. Attendees had plenty of opportunities to network, collaborate, and exchange ideas, reigniting their passion for meaningful and purposeful content creation.
Whether you were a seasoned blogger or a curious first-timer, CBS Talks offered a space to reconnect with the heart of content creation: storytelling, community, and authenticity.
Supported by Partners Who Believe in Purposeful Content
The event was made possible through the generous support of its co-presenter, Seda Central Bloc Cebu, a hotel that shares CBS’s mission of supporting local creatives and providing world-class experiences in the heart of Cebu IT Park.
