Cebu Business Month Goes Green This 2010

Per tradition of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), June marks the Cebu Business Month. This year, they decided to paint the whole town green.

The theme of the month-long event is Green Is It. Its general aim is to call on all industry players, especially those in the field of information technology and business processing outsourcing, to focus their energies and initiatives on technologies and innovations that help and support the preservation of the environment.

CCCI has prepared plenty of activities for everyone, from key business players to consumers. Last June 1, Ayala Center-Cebu played host to its grand opening salvo and the Go Green Concert held on June 5. June 11 was Meet the Icons followed by the Weekend Mall Show entitled “Go Green in Performing Arts” the next day.

For the entire month, several dining establishments will participate in Shop and Dine Cebu, where all guests can look forward to delectable meals at more affordable prices. There will also be the local job fair in June 19 at Abellana National High School Gym, as well as the Great Cebu Sale in Cebu International Convention Center (CICC). It will run from June 21 to 24.

CICC will also be the venue for the three-day Green Expo, which features Cebu ICT Conference, Go Green Tourism Congress, and Sustainability Conference.

Top shopping malls in the metropolis will still feature the Trails of Success, people who succeed in their line of business, especially those related to the environment. CCCI is also planning to bring the said exhibit, along with earth-friendly products, to various colleges and universities.

IT geeks and enthusiasts should watch out for the official launching of Developers Connect or DevCon in June 25. It is going to be filled with fast-paced discussions on many new technologies, debates, Hackathon (a coding marathon), and lots of food and drinks.

This June, get to know Cebu in a more technological and business perspective. Join Cebu Business Month 2010.
