This year’s theme is “Excite Cebu!” A line-up of various activities will fill the whole month of June 2013 with the aim of increasing Cebu’s appeal, finance contingency, and maintain the growth of Cebu’s vital commercial enterprise.
CCCI has organized business-matching activities, trade shows, presentations, fairs, and exhibits all custom-made to the needs the 4 vital sectors of Cebu: creative, information and communication technology-business processing (ICT-BPO), SME, and tourism industry. Cebu Business Month will surely fill your need for enterprise growth.
“Cebu has and is expecting to see tremendous growth in these sectors for 2013; one of the fastest growing sectors, the ICT-BPO industry saw an annual growth rate of 200% from 2000-2012 and this is going to accelerate even further this year. For tourism, the Department of Tourism is projecting around 2.6-2.8 million tourist arrivals in Cebu from the 2 million of 2012,” enthuses Mr. Lito Maderazo, CCCI President. “It is the commitment and shared goal of the Chamber with all of its partners to materialize these positive projections for each of our key-growth sectors,” he added.
Some of the activities that were planned for the Cebu Business Month in June are 2013 Cebu ICT/BPO Conference and Expo, the 2nd Cebu Creative Industries Summit, Entrepreneurship Summit, and the Tourism Congress. These activities were organized to advocate alliances, modernization, and obtain affirmative income.
Fellowship and social enterprise will also be fostered in the Cebu Business Month during events like the Cebu Tourism Night, Business-in-Golf Tournament, and the Cebu Run for the Rivers.
“Cebu’s creative industry is already recognized internationally,” shares Melanie Ng, CBM Chair for 2012. This statement was made in response to the flourishing creative and entrepreneurial industry in Cebu.
“For the SME sector, we’re seeing more cooperation with larger corporations to drive inclusive growth for Cebuanos as well as to promote sustainable production and consumption. Robust entrepreneurial activity and new business formation has always been the foundation of Cebu’s business success, a key differentiator and source of pride for us. Another significant priority for us is to drive growth, innovation, and opportunity for our creative industries sector, Mr. Maderazo announces.
“It is our goal that through CBM 2013, as with all our activities, we support our business community in launching new ventures, expanding operations and push into new markets, nationally and internationally,” he culminates.
Cebu Business Month will be a another mark of business growth for Cebu and its hardworking people.
