PNP Crime Lab Receives Lot from Governor Hilario P. Davide III

For the construction of a first regional crime laboratory in the Visayas, the provincial government donated a 1,000 square-meter lot to the Philippine National Police (PNP) 7.

Governor Hilario P. Davide III signed the deed of donation on Wednesday, March 12 at the Capitol. Regional Crime Laboratory Office 7 Director Police Senior Superintendent Nestor A. Sator signed the deed as the donee in behalf the PNP.

The property is located in Sudlon, Cebu City, where other law enforcement offices of the government are also nestled.

Sator said the PNP has P25 million budget for the construction of the crime lab. He said it must be at least a three (3) story building with modern equipment and will have the same capabilities with Camp Crame in Manila.

“So di na kinahanglan moadto sa Camp Crame for purposes of forensic examination, dinhi na nato buhaton like for example sa atong DNA examination,” he told the media.

Gov. Davide said the province has given the PNP one year to construct the laboratory otherwise the property will revert to the province.

Sator, a native of Tabuelan town, said the crime laboratory will be his legacy since he will be retiring from service soon. He said he has been serving the PNP for already 25 years.
